Key Changes in Version 9.04.04
A new feature has been added to allow you to spatially plot your patrons on a map using google. Google's static map API supports about 100 distinct points on one map. This lets you see where distributions of people lie. The picture at the right is from patrons on Poplar street in Memphis. The data was geo-encoded using Google's geo-encoding api.
This data can be accessed from the patron list or a patron mail list using the context menus.
There are two key bug fixes to support web sales.
- The first deals with temporary locks being left on tickets by the best seat algorithm. This is used almost exclusively in web sales and might result in a block of tickets being kept by the web listener, even though they were not held or sold. Users at the box office might encounter a ticket that they found was 'booked by another person'
- The second key fix deals with a very specific order of events that left the odd non-releaseable 'i' holds on the map. This was caused by anonymous shoppers competing with the same seat as a patron who logged in and had a race to the checkout. It happens relatively rarely, but we found the cause.
Almost everything else in this version are usability enhancement release and a collection of minor bug fixes.
It is recommended that this release be installed ASAP for all venues currently using version 9.
