Demo Tutorial - Festival Seating Events

  1. Find Patron Number 4, Ernest Ancion

    When Ernest’s record is present in the patron window continue to next step.

  2. Click the BuyButton

    The buy button is located at the very bottom of the patron window. It is the first button on the left hand side of a row of buttons.

    Once the buy button has been clicked the select play(s) window opens.

  3. Single Click on 1-FRI Rainmaker

    The performance, 1-FRI, of Rainmaker should now be highlighted.

  4. Click the Add Button

    The add button is located at the bottom left of the display area. Once the has been clicked the performance 1-FRI Rainmaker will have a bullet in front of it, and the play will also appear in the lower display area.

  5. Click the Book Seat Button

    The book seat button is located at the bottom right of the display area. When the is selected the festival ticket sales window opens. It is here that the actual seat to be purchased is selected.

  6. Type "2" for the Quantity of Tickets

    To do this the user must physically change the number of tickets by entering a new number into the Quantity to Sell field. Enter two tickets into the field.

  7. Select "Regular" Sales Promotion

    In Theatre Manager tickets can be sold for a variety of promotions, 2 for 1, Senior Special, Child and Adult admissions. These promotions can even include markups for Gala Events, or Order Fee’s. The user can define what promotions will be offered by their venue. Promotion creation is beyond the scope of this tutorial.

    To select a sales promotion open the sales promotion drop down box by clicking the down arrow. Select a promotion by clicking on one.

  8. Click the Reserve Button

    The reserve button is found at the bottom of the Ticket Sales Window. When is clicked, it moves the proposed tickets in the top portion of the window to the bottom portion of the window where they become actual tickets.

  9. Click the Payment Button

    The payment window opens.

  10. Select "Newspaper-National" as the Reason for Buying

    Use the "Why did Patron buy?" drop down box, marked with a down arrow, to select a reason for why the patron decided to purchase the tickets. This field is for marketing purposes. The user can decide if they want to make it mandatory for this information to be collected when a payment is being made. You can also define the list of reasons, by adding ones that may be more applicable to your venue.

    Click on the drop down list to open it. Select Newspaper by clicking on it.

  11. Select "Cheque" as Payment Method

    The Payment Method is also selected by using a drop down box. Open the box by clicking the down arrow. There are five different payment types, Cash, Check, Card, Other or On Account. Select "Check" by clicking on it.

  12. Enter "123" as a Cheque Number

    Do this by clicking in the cheque # field, and enter the cheque number.

  13. Click OK

    This completes the selling process. The patron window reappears and the patron’s new tickets along with any old ones, are found in the ticket information portion of the patron window.

    Note: This process assumes that the order is fully paid. A partial payment can be entered if needed.
