Resetting MANAGER cashier after too many attempts

In PC Charge Version 5.9 and higher, there are two cashiers: MANAGER and SYSTEM. The MANAGER cashier is the one most-often used. SYSTEM is intended only for use when setting up the program and for doing certain specific tasks. After 3 incorrect attempts at the login password, the cashier will be locked out from further use until restored. When MANAGER is locked out, it can be re-enabled by the SYSTEM user. When SYSTEM is locked out, PC Charge technical support must be contacted by Arts Management Support on your behalf to reinstate the cashier - and there is a fee for this service. It is very important that anyone with the SYSTEM password be discriminate about sharing that password with other employees for that reason.

How to reset the MANAGER cashier

  1. Login to PC Charge as the SYSTEM user. If you do not have the SYSTEM password, please contact support@artsman.com
  2. Go to Setup > Cashier privileges
  3. A window opens displaying both cashiers. The locked out column for MANAGER will read TRUE.
  4. Highlight the MANAGER row and click the Re-enable Selected button at the bottom of the window. A dialogue box will pop up verifying that MANAGER is enabled. Click OK on that box.
  5. You will now see that the locked out column for MANAGER reads False. Click Close to close the window.
  6. Go to File and select Logoff
  7. Log back in as MANAGER
  8. Go to File and select Logout and minimize to proceed with business and prevent PC Charge from timing out.
